This qualification is typically delivered over a minimum duration of 12 months, including 120 hours of work placement.

Delivery Mode

This qualification is delivered using a face-to-face, classroom-based delivery mode.

This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

Qualification Detail

The successful completion of this qualification requires competency to be achieved in 14 units comprising of eleven (11) core units and three (3) elective units.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, although applicants will need to undertake an LLN assessment. Students are required to complete a Practical Placement which requires a police check, an NDIS screening and students must hold a Working with Children’s Check.

Individuals and or employers may be eligible for Government funding. The student must hold a Certificate III in Individual Support and be an existing worker in the industry. ASH will be able to discuss with you the different funding available and cost of training.
